When a farmer cultivates a field, he is loosening winter’s hard-packed soil, releasing what is no longer needed in preparation for receiving seeds.

Cultivating feels an essential rhythm for preparing space in our ordinary lives to plant seeds that we pray will grow into something beneficial, perhaps even beautiful.

And the beautiful thing about cultivating and planting seeds is that we can step back to watch how God will grow them.
